HOW COUNSELLING WORKS
Each session varies in approach depending on the individual, and all sessions are kept confidential. Everyone is welcome at the MC, and we will do our best to be of service to you. If a matter is beyond the scope of faith-based counselling, we will be happy to refer you to the best and most appropriate avenues for help and assistance.
MEET OLFAR SKAR
Olfat Sakr worked as a front-end developer for several years before quitting her job to work with refugees and study the Deen with teachers in Egypt. She facilitated cross-cultural dialogue and has an interest in peace-building. Life experiences as well as interactions with others made her realize that we cannot be at peace with others if we are not at peace with our own selves. This fuelled her passion for the intersection of religion, spirituality and mental health, leading her to pursue a master’s degree in Spiritual Care and psychotherapy at Emmanuel College at the University of Toronto. She completed a placement at Scarborough Health Network in 2019 and is currently completing her final placement at CAMH.
